This is the rarest version of all Mini Coopers. Due to the spanish import restrictions in the sixties and seventies, British Leyland made Minis in Spain for the local market. Authi (Automoviles de Turismo Hispano Ingleses) made these cars under license until 1975, and the hottest version they produced was the Cooper 1300. These cars are quite similar to the Innocenti Cooper and were more sophisticated then the English built Minis.

Only 4000 ex. of the Cooper 1300 were built, and this means it is the rarest of all Coopers. This particular car is completely restored around an new "Heritage" bodyshell, but with most of the original Authi components. The engine is tweaked with double SU carburettors, and is bored to 1380 ccm for improved performance. This Mini has a sports exhaust, Restall style bucket seats and a Moto-Lita steering wheel. The wheels are original 4.5 x 10 Minilites. A car like this Authi Mini Cooper 1300 is not coming on the market very often, and almost never in a similar top condition. For that reason, we think it won't be long with us...
