Jaguar XK120 OTS (1950).
Very early version of the iconic XK120 in unbelievable original condition.
Is this Jaguar XK120 OTS a concours car ? This may sound like an odd question, but this very early example is still in almost completely original condition. The car has never been restored, is mostly in original paint and still has its original and beautifully patinated interior. Conclusion : this is the ultimate concours car, and a potential winner in any preservation class. As often said by connoisseurs : a car is only original once, while it can be restored several times. This fact adds quite some value to a classic car, and puts it on the same level as a unique piece of art.
Of course, originality does not mean that this XK120 is not ready for use. The car has been technically overhauled by world renowned Jaguar specialist JD Classics, who did an excellent job in maintaining as much as possible of the originality while making it 100% useable and ready for the road. Everything underneath was inspected and repaired if necessary, and driving this lovely Jaguar is an experience one could not forget easily. As this car is build in July 1950, this is one of the very first batch of steel bodied XK120 OTS, and it still has many of these early features typically for this first model year. Together with the car comes a period Glasspar fiberglass hardtop, which is a very rare find as well.
This Jaguar XK120 OTS deserves to be kept in this unique original condition, as any serious car collector will approve. Finding such an early car in this condition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it combines all early XK120 features with an unrepeatable patina and great driving experience.
Is this the ultimate fifties sportscar then ? In my humble opinion this XK is definitely coming very close !
