The TR5 is the rarest and most sought after model of the Triumph TR range. In fact, it was only built for 13 months, and based on the Michelotti styled TR4. Main difference was the engine, which was the brand new 2,5 Litre straight six. This engine had fuel injection, which was very uncommon for road cars at the time, and produced an impressive 150 bhp. Disc brakes, independent rear suspension and rack and pinion steering were also standard equipment. In September, the TR5 was replaced by the TR6.

With only 2947 units ever produced, this is a very rare car. This example was delivered new to Italy in 1968, and was one of only ten TR5s for the Italian market. It is still in original condition, and in an exceptionally good order for a car that has never been restored. The interior is in correct black vinyl, and the quality of the paintwork is very good. This car has the desirable electrical overdrive from new, and is equipped with chromed wire wheels - also an optional equipment. As most of the TR5's destined for the continental market, this car was dispatched as a CKD kit to the Mechelen plant of BMC in Belgium, where it was assembled.
We are very proud to offer this original TR5 on the market. It is a powerful and quintessentially british roadster, that offers lots of driving pleasure. TR5s are not often coming on the market, and one that has never been restored is even more special. Don't miss this opportunity, and please have a look at the pictures of this lovely sportscar. Now visible in our showroom.
